What is the release date of Age of Empires 4? Well, we have some good news and some good news. The good news is that we know it will arrive on October 28th. The good news is that we know exactly when that will come thanks to the Age of Empires 4 release timeline that Microsoft accounts are sharing on social media.
With Age of Empires landing more than ten years ago, if you put him at the head of a war elephant and take him to enemy base, expectations for a new entry in the classic RTS game series couldn’t be higher.
We’ve put together as many Age of Empires IV news as possible, so you’re on the same page as us. In AoE 4, players choose one of the eight civilizations in the game to play. Age of Empires 3 brought the series into the colonial era, but AoE 4 is back in the Middle Ages – just like the second game. Each civilization has its own civilization. Players can build special rewards and some unique buildings and units.
They all started with a city center and six villagers (their number increased from three in Age of Empires 2), with the goal of building a thriving city, with their own economy, and of course their own army.
The main attraction of the game is its competitive mode, which includes duels, team games or national wars with other civilizations, all of which can be played against the AI offline or online with other players.
In order to build their cities and armies, players must gather resources, build buildings, and create each individual combat unit while trying to fight against enemy soldiers.
Players can also upgrade the technology of their cities and troops by building special landmarks, and usher them into a new historical era, with a total of four to travel. Building your cities and their technologies is important, but the bread and butter of the age of empire has always been armies and battles.
What’s new with Age of Empires 4?
Age of Empires 4 has been released! Thanks to a static launch time, it’s now available to play no matter where you live. It looks like the game requires about 50GB of space on your PC, though this will grow with updates and DLC. You can pick up the game through the Microsoft Store, Steam, or with a subscription to Xbox Game Pass for PC.

- Once Age Of Empires IV is done downloading, right click the .zip file and click on “Extract to Age Of Empires IV” (To do this you must have 7-Zip, which you can get here).
- Double click inside the Age Of Empires IV folder and run the exe application.
- Have fun and play! Make sure to run the game as administrator and if you get any missing dll errors, look for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install all the programs in the folder.
